Tooth discoloration is a common side effect of many things such as smoking, drinking (coffee, tea, wine, etc), aging and more. Sometimes the shade is simply genetic but if there is an etiology as to why the teeth have been discolored we try to remove it if possible. For smokers, we offer tobacco cessation counseling and we take special care for more complicated causes of discoloration, such as tetracycline staining.
